I dig deep into my mind and try to put every piece of me into everything I write. Poetry has given me such an opportunity to express my feelings and true emotions about any topic I choose. It's like absolute freedom. I have always written songs, starting at like 8 years old. I even had a few poems in my late teenage years. When I really started getting into writing poetry was the first time I did a stretch (8 days) in Clark County Mental Health. The first thing I asked for was a note book. They gave me a pink notebook that started it all. I spent every bit of spare time reflecting what I learned about myself, coping mechanisms and much more. I never released those poems. I may never. They mean a lot to me they are for me. I feel like these poems have served their purpose. They helped carry me through the darkest points of my life. Unfortunately I eventually had to go back to Mental Health... this time in Charlotte, North Carolina... I asked for a notebook, once again they gave me a pink notebook, this notebook inspired my first poetry album "Broken Word Poetry" I even wrote and released a poem called "The Pink Notebook 2" since then, I have put out 60+ original poems (all available on my website), a few lyric videos. I've performed my poems at countless open mics, I've performed on a podcast, I have even headlined Dayton Poetry Slam as a featured act. I feel the positive energy from the scene every time I perform. I love this feeling and will always work hard to maintain it. I look forward to more poetry for as long as I possibly can do it. Thanks for the support. I love you all!
