June 1st 2025

Last night was an incredible night of live music at Devil Wind Brewing in Xenia, Ohio. I beat on my cajon (box drum) well after my hands were sore for Brothers Pennington. We tore up the stage for nearly an hour and a half. I loved every second of it. The sound guy hooked me up with a comfortable drum throne instead of the chair I was going to use. He also put 2 microphones on my drum and had me sounding pretty. I was so comfy the entire time. I was feeling good when we stepped on stage thanks to Devil Wind's delicious Peach Cobbler Cider and a Midwest IPA or 2.

The best part of the night was watching my friends play music as well! "Getting Taller" featuring my good friend Eric Mundey opened the show with a stripped down acoustic version of their blues rock sound. They absolutely had me blown away with amazing guitar solos, some rippin' bass lines. Their drummer was playing a sweet looking hand drum and had some cool chimes.. and knew right when to use em. They also have an awesome keyboard player! He was shredding the whole time. I absolutely can't wait to see what the future has in store for them! I got to meet the rest of the band after they played and everyone was super cool.

Luke Hummel played 2nd in the line up, they went on right before us. Luke is an Acoustic folk punk powerhouse. They're playing all over all the time anymore. Luke has become one of my favorites in the game. Their music is super chill but hits heavy every time. I've had the honor of sharing the stage and seeing Luke play quite a few times. It never gets old. Just like always, Luke killed it with like an hour of sweet original songs.

Hanging out through out the night was fun as well. My partner Katrina Jo was in the house as well. holding it down as our "woo girl". Sunset Combs and her partner Jack were in the building, always good to see them. The night was a success. I can't wait to hit the stage again June 7th in Urbana at the Champaign County Farmer's Market with Dirty Buggars. We go on at 10am! Come support local!
